Its a bit early.... pregnancy tests are usually accurate on the day of your missed period, so if you did one now, it could give you a false result... better to just wait and be patient.

I seriously doubt it. If you are only 1 week in from your last period, and conception is most likely to occur from days 8-18, there's only a very slight chance you could have gotten pregnant anyway. Stop for a second and ask yourself why you think you're pregnant. In your situation, it's often because you've had unprotected sex in a situation that you didn't plan to do so. I think you'd be wasting your time and money on a test right now. Wait until after your next period is due or even late. It's not going to change the outcome, but if you took a chance this time that you could have avoided, the nervousness of waiting and wondering will help you avoid the risks next time. Waiting and wondering can be really hard though, and if there's a chance you could be, you need to treat your body as if you are pregnant with a good balanced diet, and no drugs, alchohol, smoking, etc.

I got a positive result with my current pregnancy 8 days before my expected period. With my first pregnancy I didn't get a positive till 2 days after my missed period. It's different for everyone and every pregnancy. You'll have to wait it out most likely. The only way it would show on a test is if you are pregnant but furthur along then you may think. Some women spot and bleed the first month or two and they think it's a period but they are really pregnant. So take that into consideration as well.

no it's much too early now. try http://www.peeonastick.com
read up there, it'll answer all your questions and concerns about HPTs. good luck to you.

Well, first you gotta know how the test works. Briefly: the home pregnancy test (HPT) works by detecting a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG.) When an egg is fertilized, it takes about 6 to 12 days to implant in the uterus, and then it begins to secrete hCG. It takes another day or two for enough hCG to build up and make its way into your pee. So, generally speaking, the earliest you can expect a positive HPT is 8 days past ovulation ("DPO") and the latest would be about 16 DPO. It is possible to get a positive test earlier or later, but not as common. In my experience, if you use a sensitive "early" test (anything that detects 25 mIU/mL of hCG or less) you can test around 12-14 DPO and feel reasonably secure with your results (the later you test, the more secure you can feel in its accuracy.)

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

You would be very unlucky to be pregnant at the momet, not to mention unusual. You get pregnent when sperm meets the egg that you produce during ovulation. Most people ovulate about 14 days after the first day of their period. It can be as few as 12 or as many as 17 and still be normal, but to already have ovulated would be very unusual. Therefore, if you have had unprotected sex you are at a low risk of getting pregnant seeing as you have another 7 days until you ovulate.

Pregnancy tests work by measuring the amount of pregnancy hormone in your urine. These are not usually high enough to measur until the first day of a missed period, although some claim to be able to tell earlier. If you test earlier than this you are at risk of getting a false negative (youe ARE pregnant, but test says you're NOT) as the hormone is not strong enough.

Stop worrying, you SHOULD be fine, but take it as a lesson and use contraception in future.

No there is a new pregnancy test which shows 4 days before your due period this is the earliest you could find out, it's by clear blue.

no defiantly not. You will have to wait until the first day of your missed period at least and sometimes it still doesnt show up....you can get tests that show up few days early but most in my opinion are useless. Clearblue is definatly the best one to use but just wait until you have missed your period. Also if you still have 3 weeks to go its more than likely you are not pregnant because you normally get pregnant on the 14th day of your cycle!

First responce does a early stage pregnancy test however i would prepare for a negative responce this early on as it would be about one week ago you had a period. If by any chance you had a period that was lighter or different than your usual you could be further gone than you realise and it may show up positive.

Good Luck.

no i think the earliest is about 4 days before your period is due, if you only had a period a week ago i doubt you would be pregnant anyway as you normally ovulate about 14 day after the first day of your last period.
