Then he said he was going to check if the system had any R-134a in it and it had some cus as soon as he unscrewed the top it started leaking.like the valve was stuck or somthing. what is this part callled where you check this thing i might need to buy it new. what is the hose he was mentioning called i might need to buy that is it the liquid hose? well and the freon leaked now i dont know what the problem is. I was thinking of buyin compressor, liquid hose, drier, orfice tube $500 in parts HELP

If some shade tree mechanic has been working on it, there could be a number of things wrong. One there could be moisture in the system that's freezing up and blocking the flow of freon.
First have a vacuum pulled on the system to remove excess air and moisture. Have them to check to see if the system holds a vacuum, to detect leaks. If there is no leaks, recharge the system. And have the tech to use a leak detector to check for leaks. Another problem could be the expansion orifice. That could get expensive, so do the other checks first.

First run, DO NOT WALK form that mechanic. He does not know what his is doing. You never push in a valve to see if there is freon in it. You always connect the ac gages to the system .
Judging by what you said it was just low on freon. Now it seems that it all leaked out. So now you will have to have it recharged.
You will have to have all the air removed from the system. If you don't, just putting in freon will do nothing.
Then have the new mechanic( ac certified I hope) Get a leak detector and check the system. If it has a leak at the fittings, replace the "O" rings until it holds a vacuum. When it does then and only then recharge the system with 134A.

Sometime when the motor gets hot, the A/C air gets hot. Or it needs freon!! yes, the color dye is to see where the freon is leaking!!
