That would have to be my White John Travolta disco suit that I wore to the Junior prom back in the 70's. I even had the platform shoes to go with it. Everyone thought it was cool back then. I even have a picture. I look at it now and want to barf!!!! My sisters keep the negative as blackmail. If I knew where the negative was I would burn it. There was a reason they called him "John Revolting". The suit says it all!!!!!!

I made myself a maxi long flowy cape made out of a horrible green curtain material. I wore it with a huge crucifix around my neck when I was 15 and thought I looked magnificent. Thank goodness I haven't got a photo to prove that I must have looked absolutely awful. That was 35 years ago in the 70's!!

A bright pink shell suit I got for my 12th birthday (this was in 1991). Oh and I had a lovely spiral perm to go with it. Cool. Not!

Also, remember the bermuda shorts and black lycra cycling shorts with neon stripe down the sides phase in the 80s? Some people opted for one or the other, but of course I had to have both...

If you remember the 80's hair...that was one of them, the bigger than big hair, took like a can of Aquanet to hold it. Then I wore the jeans that were ripped and cuffs where folded over and up to keep tight with slouch socks. And shirts with shoulder pads. Oh my. I want to kick myself when I see old pictures of myself. But hey it was the 80's and that was the style.

I don't think it's worth asking this question because when you were wearing whatever it was, everybody was wearing it at the time. In fact, if you didn't wear it, then probably people would have thought there's something wrong with you. Take for example, hair straighteners. I think it looks soooo unnatural and silly for people to have that ridiculously flat hair (looks ever worse on black women who have naturally very curly and beautiful hair). Now, if women have curly hair people look at them strangely but in years to come those people will be looking at their photos and cringe and kick themselves because they used those hair straighteners all the time, which, in fashion's eye of the future, will just look ridiculously flat and squeeky. Just watch it!
