No because Republicans still dont allow gays to marry. However if I woman were to become president, I believe the correct term should be "First Gentleman" . Though I think it sounds a little strange. I would just prefer the President's Husband.

well, he would have 2 b a democrat because religious republicans will never understand or tolerate nature. if this ever happened, there would be a title but, who is 2 judge? the husband of the gay president would be just that, whatever he prefers 2 b called. it will happen eventually, just like there will eventually be a female president and a black president. how about a black female president? or, any other minority president, by race, or sex, or whatever.

Yes, both in cases of a gay president and a female president.

The First Significant Other; or the First Partner

That change should take place even before we have a gay President. Some of those First Ladies, haven't been very ladylike.

Well, I assume you mean the American President... as there are more than one countries in the world... so... considering that most of the important votes in the US are held by red-necked prejudiced psychos... I don't see it happening anytime in this millenium, which I'm upset about really.
If it did happen, and the couple were married, then terminology would be the same... so yes, First Husband would make sense.

PS: Good question.

Well linguistically that wouldn't make sense, since they are both men, and the President would be first. Let's see. If the Queen of England marries, like Elizabeth had Phillip, he becomes the Prince Consort. So maybe the gay president's partner would be the Prince....no...we don't do royal titles.

Gee, I dunno, I'll think about this one.

Yes, same as if there were a female president. Female spose/partner = first lady -- male spouse/partner = first man

Suppose he'd be the 'first gentleman' which equates to 'first lady'. Perhaps he could set a president (!) by telling us what he would like to be called. And what if the President were a lesbian, would her partner be the first lady still? Depends what she wants to be called.
