I wouldn't call it an emergency. It is definitely something you should address right away with your physician. You should make an appointment with your doctor/gynecologist as soon as possible. I would only go to the ER if you began to feel dizzy or faint, that could mean you have lost a lot of blood. Also, I wouldn't take aspirin until you get this under control because it may promote the bleeding.

No its not an emergency but something you should see a dr about - the clots are just lining from your uterus so nothing to worry about this is mean to happen- your Dr may suggest a D&C in whickh they will clean the lining of your uterus out and should stop the bleeding - I have had several of these they are done under General Anaesthetic but again its not an emergency .

The other thing that I just thought of was is it possible you are pregnant? The spotting and then clots could mean you are miscarrying and your body is having trouble expelling the foetus in this case you need to see a dr asap to get it all cleaned out propedrlly this will then stop the bleeding.

Could be a number of things but a similar problem runs in my family, where there is bleeding of clotted and unclotted blood (which is even worse) for more than 3 weeks, if u go to your doc he/she will prescibe pills and stop the bleeding in a couple of days. Just be careful because it can make u feel really dizzy and weak.

Probably not an emergency, but something you should certainly discuss with your doctor asap! How old are you? and has this happened b4? Bleeding too long can make you tired and could cause anemia. Talk to your doctor.
