Common agreement decides what is true and what is not. Everyone has his own perception of reality, and there are multiple realities. Historians decide which versions of past events are factual; juries decide innocence or guilt, reporters document daily events, refs decide fouls and fairs, researchers state scientific law, clergy decide religious doctrines...all are interpretations, observations, deductions...but none can be validated 100 percent and oftentimes we discover contradictory truths. Each of us decides truth based on inputs from our five senses, experiences and what others claim and we find agreeable and sensible. That one Truth is faith-based and may but not always vary. Regarding truth...Be True to YourSelf and in so doing, you will find happiness despite the falsities that abound.

the only thing that will enable you to distinguish what is true and what is not is discernment which comes from the beginning of knowledge and from there obtaining wisdom which will then give you the discernment to disnguish what is right and wrong and when you always choose the truth in what is right you then have understanding, and once you have understanding you are soon enlightened
