I have a packard bell easynote E6100 Laptop... it is used on a large pine dining table.. and the cooling fan runs 99% of the time it is on... the vents are clean etc, its the only viable place i can use it....... any way i can stop this fan running constantly......or is there a problem with the computer itself....?

My easynote laptop is terrible for heat disersal too. I don't normally use it on a table though - normally on my lap (funnily enough!). I have to put it off to one side so my leg doesn't cover the vent.
Incidentally, I once used it on a leather puffet and it switched itself off when it overheated, so don't worry about damage, just put up with the annoying noise!

i understand, i did not understand Packard Bell changed into nevertheless in company. no longer to stray out of your question, yet have you ever regarded at HP? If no longer, flow with the Toshiba. a minimum of help wont be as uncommon.

the fan runs to keep the cpu cool, notebooks have notoriously bad ventilation anyway ... if your laptop doesn;t have its own "feet", you might look into a laptop stand to give some airspace underneath it ... thats all i can suggest
