the problem is this; if i shut down the computer then start or if i restart the computer with the printer still attached at the usb port the computer comes on but the moniter shuts down it is'nt a monitor problem as i have tried it with another monitor but if i turn the computer of and disconnect the usb printer cable and turn the computer on everything is fine .im a bit bewildered as to what might be wrong.can someone explain and tell me how to put it right as its a pain in the *** diconnecting the cable all the time

Did you try another usb port? Do you have usb 2.0 installed? It happened to me too when i overclocked my CPU. The monitor had the same problem. See if there's a problem with your motherboard. This can be very possible.

could be the usb port. try something else in that usb port see if it does the same. or try installing the printer on another port. if it still happens it could be a faulty printer. take it back to where you got it, exchange it for another one or get a different printer. personally i'd never buy a lexmark, cartridges are to expensive.

check that the printer is compatible for your PC (specs) install everthing and start again if the problem persists contact lexmark and ask them or try their web pages ...
