Despise. This is such a strong word. Ugly, really.
As an American I can think of many things about 'American culture/lifestyle/system' that I am totally unhappy with. Too many.
But despise? Can't really think of anything.
Appreciate is a word that is not quite as strong as love. Interesting.
One thing that I love about American culture/lifestyle/system is that I am free to speak to issues which really matter to me.
Another thing is love is that I am totally free to worship my God in the way that my God has given me the grace to worship.
I guess it just boils down to my tremendous sense of personal freedom. I realize Americans are not the only citizens who are free and feel much like I do.
Arrogance is not only intolerable, but boring after a while.
No matter where I find it.

I'm not an American, am I allowed to answer?
Hate:
1. Hollywood
2. I hate when they say "God bless America" as if America was any greater than other place in the world.
3. That they don't have any "culture"(besides the natives). They're just a big cauldron with other countries cultures all mixed together, "brewing" racism more than they realize themselves.

Like:
1. I like how they overdo christmas, lol.
2. Well it has many states, I like the variety in scenery. Some nice places.
3. I like Pepsi Max and a lot other food and snacks they sell....

1. Inability to respect other peoples' cultures, rights and beliefs;
2. Inability to live up to the ideals for which the country was founded of liberty and justice for all worldwide;
3. The greed with which the super rich and powerful, which controls the policies of the government and elected officials, uses its control to manipulate public policies to bolster poverty, hunger, malnutrition, despair and permits treatable diseases, illnesses and sicknesses to spread to engage in genocide throughout the world.
I appreciate
1. That we have checks and balances, which although slow at times, is still one of the good things the USA has in the Constitution;
2. I appreciate that people of all races, religious/non-religious backgrounds, ethnic groups, backgrounds can voice their opinions without being arrested, persecuted, incarcerated by the government as in other countries, since this is what gives us an opportunity to correct things that are wrong in our policies;
3. I appreciate our right to an education and pursue artistic and individual expression.

Appreciate...
Value for money...
Value for need to focus on singular priorities,
Value for democracy.
No despise as such, since the draw backs can be attributed to just one thing.... lack of infrastructure to simultaneously nurture growth of fine arts !
Wealth and prosperity differ only in terms of proportional absence/growth of fine arts.
