Mine was probably The Cure many years ago at Glastonbury, it was pouring with rain with thunder and lightning - very gothic!

Faith No More were on a tour of Australia - must have been about 94, or 95 I think. Their official dates were only Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. However, they were on a holiday down to my native Tasmania, and met a guy who was an old friend or roady or something, and he arranged for them to do an impromtu gig in the University of Tasmania's rep (bar) it only holds about 1500 when totally loaded to the rafters, and is very enclosed. One of my favourite bands anyway, the atmosphere was explosive and totally went off!! Epic reverbarating around the room, with everybody singing!
Brilliant!

The Peatbog Faeries. One of the top three big bands up here in Scotland. The other two are Capercaillie and Shooglenifty. I've just been introduced to The Afro Celt Sound System and they are totally brilliant.

I don't suppose anybody has heard of them though.

I'm a huge rock fan and right up this is Rush, Signals Tour and Bob Mould solo just after Husker Du, but I have to admit the best band I have ever seen live was Kid Creole and the Coconuts! I know, I was surprised too but they were absolutely fantastic. Such energy and so entertaining. I went again the next night.

Spriritualized, again at Glastonbury again very rainy, they played for twice as long as they were supposed to because the original headline act had been cancelled. They had a full gospel choir and they were out of this world, Glastonbury is defiantly the place for legendary performances.

For a big show - Marilyn Manson. Good music and very entertaining and "showy". Good friendly crowd too.

Small gig-wise a band called Brutal Deluxe. Had never heard any of their stuff but was great fun.

Oh, and Alice Cooper with Twisted Sister last year.

Aargh, so many!

Meat Loaf was fantastic - the energy he poured out onto the Wembley stage. Was also 5 rows from the front which helped!

Elton John was good - it was an open air concert at Leeds Castle - very atmospheric.
