You know as a grew up I always thought the threat of getting a spanking was there, but for the life of me I can't remember one. I'm sure it happened, but I don't remember it.
I believe that it is important that children learn to behave and it only get worse if you don't take care of it when they are young for some kids that is going to take a spanking. On thing is for sure if a parent is going to threaten a spanking they better be willing to do it. The first time you threaten it and back down, the kid owes you.
After reading another post, I do want agree with it, and say it is very important that you make the kid understand that you still love them, and why they got spanked.

Phesical punishment, especially at the primary schools is important. Without phesical punishment, these children can not be controlled. This will help make them balance in their later life.

i do believe in spanking but there is a FINE difference between abuse and discipline so be careful. But after the spanking you need to explain why you did what you did and what they did wrong and make sure they understand what happen and why. everyone is different on there opinions so you need to decide how you feel about it. don't over use that sort of discipline though because after a while it really does not work and it just makes you look like a bully.

Sometimes children dont understand words, so it becomes one of the few choices, and when used well to correct or encourage good behaviour it may work very well especially if you explain to them why you are punishing them first.

I think its good if more people disciplined their kid with a belt or a nice smack of the hand things would be much better. Who invented time out anyways.

yes, they should b spanked whenever necessary, tht's the only way to discipline them, or they tend to sit on your head

if they are too much dicipline them by whip them...
