am I doing something unbelievably stupid?, Dell did not specify I would need speakers with my PC or anything. Please help before I call them.

I bought the computer online (Dell UK) and looked at all the options ticked before buying, but as I don't need headphones with my HPCompaq PC at work I presumed I would have built in speakers with my Dell PC, this was obviously wrong, PS I'm not blonde or from Essex, although what this has to do with computer knowledge is beyond me!!!

The Dell Dimension 5150 speakers are optional and cost additional, Dell wouldhave specified that on the phone with you, you probly just said no skipping through it, because it was an additional cost. You can also see this on the dell website, http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04&kc=6W300&l=en&oc=dim515nvmin&s=bsd

Look at the bottom under
Also included in this system...

ALSO: Dell has a 21 day warranty, call in and say that you did want the speakers. Talk to Customer Care. Good luck.

Im sure it must be an optional accesory... try double clicking on the picture of the little speaker on your toolbar- then go to the audio properties/settings dialogue... when you are there it will display what you do or dont have.. best of luck!

when you go to tools & devices on your dvd area, find sound devices, it is probably set to headset, you need to set it to audio.
