Tell me what rational logic would be used in a decision like that? Considering the fact that Alqueda in Afganistan was deemed responsible, we somehow missed and invaded Iraq, when we were targeting Iran.

Seriously where do you people come up with this crap. I;m sure the government covers some things up to protect the greater good (like preventing widespread destructive panic) but some of these things are just goddamn ridiculous.

It is human nature to want to be safe, and one of the ways we try to stay safe is by understanding the cause for a terrible or frightening event. When the cause is out of our control (such as a terrorist attack), many people resort to a "safer" explanation over which they feel at least SOME power. Apparently for many conspiracy theorists, it feels safer for them to believe that "the government" conspired to create the events of September 11, rather than having to deal with an entity such as a terrorist organization; they feel they understand the government, as opposed to a terrorist organization that is identified with a religion that they also do not understand.

They still go on about the Kennedy assassination.
This 9/11 thing has only begun to sprout legs. Give it five more years and it will have wings.

There was a time in this country when the people could believe everything the government said but the Kennedy assassination and the Warren Report ended all that. Then came Watergate to give the public one more reason to mistrust the government and now you have conspiracies galore.

Because people want the truth and someone to blame, to reveal the plot and punish the bad guy in order to get some guarantee that something like 9/11 won't ever happen again.

They still go on about them because they are true. Why do people continue to deny proof. Are they blind or just much rather be part of the brainwashed masses and just go on about their day safe and protected by our government as they slowly strip us of our rights. But yeah some things are just ridiculous.

conspiracy theories arose because every fire has some smoke....and the conspiracy continues to grow....1st it was twin towers...then afghanistan....later iraq....than lebanon.....treatment of prisoners specially at guantanamo and abu gharib prisons....then eaves dropping....now plans to attack iran and syria....so that concludes the theory....moral of the story.....create a war on terror and make like minded allies.....on the home front keep people in perpetual fear.....abroad usurp muslim land and oil.....

they chewed their nails down too far and so can't hook into that big slippery one, only push it farther up. This provides them too much time to think.
