I remember enjoying it... Actually I lived in Sauda but have travelled frequently to Oslo and Bergen. Oslo like anywhere else is quiet during the week so you got to have a hobby but wild in the weekends so you can let it all hang out. If you stay in student flats it will probably more fun.

Nice people, nice country, fresh air, VERY high cost of living, most items 3 -4 times uk prices. 1 can of beer £4-5.00, Bottle spirit £38.00. Lived there for a few months a long time ago, was there on holiday & visiting friends 3 years ago, couldn't afford to eat!!
1 pizza in cafe (between 4) 2 waters, 1 juice, £38.00
2 burgers + 2 kids bowl of pasta. £47.00
Not quite so bad outside Oslo, but all drink is the same nationally, state run, (Vinmonopolet) trying to make people drink more wine! £12.00 + bott.

I've not lived there, but I was detached there while on a Squadron in the RAF. I spent 3 weeks there and enjoyed it thoroughly. I was in Bardufoss, in north Norway. A really beautiful country. Very expensive place to live, though.

Yes...there are many things to do there. You can sky in winter, or ride your mountain bike on the special trails during summer. Also there are beautiful places to go hiking, there are lots of cafes, shops etc etc...
