How To Eliminate Poverty.
Ask yourself "how much do i want to win the lotto?
Would you like to spend dollar after dollar trying to win the lotto, only to have some one else get 30 to 40 million dollars?WOW! think about it,30-40 million dollars for one person or one family.....
Thats human greed at it's finest! How about everybody put in thier dollar for the lotto, then we take that 30-40 million dollars and give
one million dollars to 30-40 different people every week.We do this every week and after a few years poverty will be gone.Seems impossible but it would work. Now ask yourself where is the money for the school systems? How can we do this it will destroy the economy!!!!!
NO IT WONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would'nt you like to get your share of the lotto without hoping you win?Would'nt it be nice to know your name is coming up and your going to get ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Maybe if we the people get together we can change the world.

We've got a problem with the numbers... There are billions of poor people... 30-40 people per week would have no effect on poverty... Look at the zeroes! 1-2,000,000,000 poor people... How is helping 30-40 people per week going to change that?
Let's say there are 52 weeks per year... Lets say we do this for 10 years, or 100 years! 52x40x10=20,000 people escape poverty after 10 years. 52x40x100=200,000 people escape poverty after 100 years! Unfortunately, more than 100,000,000 people are BORN into poverty each year!! I do believe there are ways to change the world... We need to change... Ourselves. Unfortunately, the suggestion is not rational... Rationality refers to the quality that conforms to reason. Unfortunately this suggestion, however well-intentioned does not... This is NOT meant to be a condemnation. Please keep trying! The most important thing is that we never give up!! Thank you for reading this... Sincerely.

Your question is mind boggling.

Any rational idea to get rid of poverty should not be thrown away.

However, as you stated, greed is the motivating factor in a Capitalist society, as you see when lotto pools swell after nobody wins.

Everybody wants to sit at the top of the heap.

Sharing wealth is a fundamentally communistic characteristic.

Observe all the individuals who had relatives killed on 9/11.

What did they do with the money they received?

Obviously, many plowed it back into the economy.

However, the general public did not see the benefit of it because all I see is good paying jobs being eliminated to fatten up Corporate profits and their rich corporate executives.

So, what is going on is a "hidden" war between top corporate executives and the workers trying to hang on to good paying jobs. And, the top corporate executives are winning and will always win.

Greed, that's why they win.

Eliminate greed, and you have communism, and that don't work.

Quite a quagmire, right?

Wow, somebody is a bit of an idealist...!

The funny thing is, communism would be the world's perfect solution except for that fact that all it takes is one greedy s.o.b. to ruin it for everyone.

I would be fascinated to hear your opinion of someone who has earned $30-40M through their own hard work and perseverance. Should they be handing out their hard-earned cash just like that?

Also, whatever happened to natural selection, survival of the fittest? I'm not just talking in evolutionary terms, but in social and economic terms - as long as there is one single person who is even slightly "stronger" in these terms, there must always be at least one other person who isn't doing so well. Wherever that line lies will be the class divide that seems to irritate you so much - throw all the money you like at the problem, it'll just change where that line lies - at the end of the day the line will still be there I'm afraid though.

Anyways, charity starts at home as they say! Go on! Give your money away if you feel that strongly about it! Personally I'll be keeping my wad to buy myself nice stuff. That's because I'm a hard-nosed realist though. Do as _you_ please.

Rawlyn.

Being able to share your other millions to those families will really make a lot of differences in their lives. But is there someone who would be willing to share their other winnings when these are already in their hands? You know very well "people" would act greedy when the subject is "money." That's why we have poverty kuz' most people are corrupt. They are so self-centered and avaricious that all they can think of is material wealth. Being compassionate maybe, would make the world change.
