The shield of King David. The blue stripes are said to represent a Jewish man's prayer shawl (not that the leaders of Israel actually wear them).

The star is the star of David. David was a king of the Jews (5/6 of Israelis are jews and israel was made for jews) It is the most common jewish symbol
