i just got a matalan leaflet shoved through the letterbox and it has some bird modelling 'boyfriend trousers'. am i missing something or are they just normal trousers?

boyfriend cut jeans are supposed are sort of manly cut and intentionally baggy - like if you were to borrow your boyfriend's jeans, how they would look on you. (not very good if like me you are hippy - look great on "althetic" figures though, i have a friend who wears them and they are really flattering)

And the actual answer is... They're called boyfriend trousers because they look like you've borrowed them from a guy. They're cut like guys' trousers, and just a tiny bit baggy.

i think it's how they are cut ( i.e bootcut, flare), like men's jeans so they are more like your boyfriends jeans but they are made for women
