In materialistic philosophical terms God is the Great
Singularity. God is the Supreme origin. Or God is somehow
there in the Supreme origin even if we don't understand how.
And we can't, of course, say that everything was created from
nothing nor some impersonal energy.
Accepting a Supreme Being commonly referred to as God we then recognize the existence of a Supreme Personality a first
"person". Of course, this first person is somehow all
spiritual.
Ok, now we have a first "person" a being with identity.
Anything or anyone manifest from Him would be for His
enjoyment in relationships and acitivities.
In other words, all beings were originally eternal. They
remain eternal but set in an ephemeral status in this
material existence where they adopt temporary forms. They
then "transmigrate" from one bodily form to the next and this
is commonly known as reincarnation.
So God, the Supreme Being, created all things and everyone
for the sake of enjoying pastimes, acitivities and loving
exchange/reciprocations.
Life existed before the creation of this earth planet. Life appeared on this earth planet by natural selection as well as by intervention from higher beings.

There is absolutely no credible evidence that life was created at all, let alone by a god. Everything points to a vast diverse reality of which we only see an infintesimal part. A reality so vast and so diverse, that life had to happen. History shows that man creates stories of gods not the reverse.

God created life esp. human being to obey him and stay among others in good atmosphere:
I also agree to the following suggestion:
According to all religious scriptures i.e Quran, Bible, Torah & other God's relevations life is created to take a test of man kind whether they will do good acts in this world or bad acts. If we do good acts then after death we will be awarded Heaven by the God if we do bad acts here wthen we will be awarded Hell ( May God protect all of us from hell )
My suggestion to the asker/readers is to LOVE and respect God and also to live among people in the best manner/way to find a good environment of living.
Best of Luck

this is a very intriguing question , I was just asking my self that same question driving to work yesterday , well if you think about it all reasons given by all religions and thinkers ultimately portray a creator that is insecure or needs some assurance or worshipers or experiment call it what you want , a God that needs something or wants to prove something
but any of those explanations will take away from the nature of a creator that any religion tries to attach to that god , being all mighty and needing nothing , answering to no one
so you see the paradox , if a god crated life ( the universe ) then he surly lacks characters of a god
so the short answer he didn't

God created the life in his own merriment.
Since the god is life he created life and all inanimate objects in the world for the life which is his son / daughter.

What or Who are the appropriate questions that can be asked in theology and not the question 'Why'. In Christian theology, you blame the Satan and Adam and Eve's sin of disobedience for all the sufferings of man in this world. But, what is your answer if some body asks you why should not God prevent Satan or for that matter Adam and Eve from going astray. In Hindu theology, man's suffering is attributable to his past karma. But, the omnipresent and omnipotent God allowed all they human drama of suffering and joy. For that, the explanation, in Hindu theology, is that it is God's own 'maya' or lila or his play. He is the one who makes and unmakes a man a devil and vice versa. Hence, a person who is steeped in religiosity ought not to feel offended by the adversity around us. He will take it also with equal poise, as he would do in the face of happy tidings. For him, all is well, whether that ends well or not, because that is His will.

What makes you believe life was created by a God...? Why not "God" as a natural phenomenon? Forget the man-made Bible and what it says there... if not for the Bible and the myths therein, HOW do you know there's such an entity? HOW do you know that "God" is not either a figment of our imagination... or our sense of conscience?
