where I can obtain instructions on how to format a new hard drive on my PC and use it in another PC as a primary driver?? tried a few times and always get "A disk read error occurred press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" please need helP not much hair left to pull out!! thank-you

You see!

For setting you hard drive to primary one in other Pc you need to change
Jumper settings(seagate)

you can see tht on your harddrive....something like ....*master* & *slave* and now change settings of other PC harddrive like this..coz you want your hardrive to be primary. and i guess it would start working.

tht particular error occurs if computer is unable to read a hardrive or any other booting device.

OR

better you try Discmanager utility from your harddrive manufacturer.

and one more thing..above all make sure wether booting prioities set in BIOS has harddrive in priority or not(coz this may also cause uncessary problems)

To format your harddrive you will need to get a recovery disc or a Windows CD.
No boot disc is necessary unless you are trying to install Windows 95.
The recovery disc will usually come with your computer, if you dont have one, you will need to call your computer manufacturing company and order one.
