Close.
I was aiming to make landfall just outside of Xiamen in south-east China (not in the city itself, it's hard to explain to cops why you've magically appeared from nowhere with a shovel in your hand. Also, if you poke your head up in the middle of the street - ouch.)
I miscalculated the curvature of the earth and actually broke through the other side in the Strait of Formosa. This sent 3 trillion cubic miles of seawater hurtling towards me, but I was able to stop up the leak with a finger.
(I'm typing this with my remaining nine fingers.)
Let's hope the plug holds, or it's 'bye-bye' to Taiwan.
