My boyf has booked us a romantic weekend away, I am due on my period two days before and am as regular as clockwork, is there any way I can delay it? I am not taking the pill.

If you are not on the pill, one way to delay it is to take Norethiserone. You take the pills in the run up to your period and continue to take one a day until you are ready for your period. You need to get it from the gp on perscription. Unless you have had problems in the past it a safe drug to take (well, as safe as any drug) and is very successful at delaying your period. Many ladies take it to stop their period from coming on their wedding day or honey moon.

I would try to see a dr who is likely to be sympathetic, as some hold the opinion that you shouldn't mess around with your cycle if you don't need to. If one of the reasons you don't want it is that you are worried period pains will mess up your plans mention this as they might be more understanding than if you just want to delay it for "romantic" reasons. Ahem....

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and what a lovely boyfriend you have.

Just nip to the doctors and he'll give you some pills for however many days you want to delay it for. Once you stop taking them you'll come on a couple of days later and it won't mess up your cycle either. have a good weekend!!!

You could try doing lots of exercise. Or see if your doctors do menstrual extraction. Which I doubt, but somewhere is supposed to do it...

I wouldn't advise taking the delay pills because you're lucky to have a regular cycle. If you do and it messes it up, think how many other things will be spoiled because your period will crop up in the middle of things, and what worse, you won't be prepared!

Seriously don't mess with your cycle. Maybe try and rebook like the other poster said or just put up with it.

I voiced my concerns to my doc a few months ago as we're going away and my periods have been incredibly irratic since having a baby, having the coil fitted and removed and now finally on the mini pill.

My docs exact words were; 'don't worry, even with your history, we can make them stop'. there are pills you can take which will delay your period so my advice is get to the docs, you certainly won't be the only person to have asked them this year, i bet!

so get yourself down the docs and have a FANTASTIC weekend away!

I normally take the pill. I take it the day before my periods are due and stop taking them when I do not mind having them. Usually after 3/4 days.

If youre not taking the pill then there is no way that you will be able to delay it.

sure, in my case, i'm charting to purpose to optimize my possibilities of *getting* pregnant and this month (as a results of fasting) i ovulated over per week later than favourite (which will mean my menses, if i'm getting it, will be over per week "late" compared to different, extra common cycles) of route, am hoping that i'm pregnant inshallah, yet that doesnt answer your question lol!! So, sure, fasting and any stress in reality can interupt even the most common of cycles! Eid mubarak :)

Sorry, only contraceptive ('the pill' or other methods) can stop your period. It's probably too late now but, for the future you can get on the pill and then plan your period around your life instead of your life around your period. There's nothing wrong with period sex though. You can throw down a towel and take a hot shower together after. Sex during menstration reduces cramps too!

The doctor will give you some tablets, that will get you through your weekend without your period. I used them one time for a weeks holiday in Spain.

There is no way... sorry

I know how frustrating it can be.. Every single romantic weekend my husband and I have... yup you guessed it... exactly at the wrong time of the month. Every single flippin' time.

What you could do in the future is just put your monthly cycle discreetly on a visible calender in your living space. Let him know what your markings mean on your calender and he then will be able to check it for future reference. That's the only thing I can think of.
