i assume someone is contesting you having sole custody of a child in common w/ them? then yes, they need to serve you with the complaint and summons. it must be personal service, not by mail. and you have 21 days to reply to the complaint, otherwise you will be considered in default.

At your local courthouse, contact the Family Court Services and tell them you are expecting notification of a court hearing regarding custody. They have all the records and should be able to let you know what is happening with your case.

It depends on if they give your correct address?Yes you are suppose to get one but often people don't.If you think that they may play dirty i would make shur the county court has my correct address.
