Knowing that if you continue to be non-productive in the office environment, then you are jeopardizing your position and if you are the sole provider for your family -- then your family is put at risk of NOT having the necessities of life on their plates, over their heads (shelter), on their backs (clothing) and that they will not be educated or cared for.

THAT alone will overcome laziness -- and making sure you keep a schedule of tasks to accomplish during the day and checking off each item as it is done. SET goals, set the steps to accomplish the goals, set the deadlines, and exceed the deadlines with quality projects.

One thing you may notice i that this will normally strike around the same time each day - these pits of laziness. Peoples energy cycles work differently (morning and afternoon people for example) so the way to get the most out of each day, whilst accommodating these pits in energy is to structure your day so you are tackling the most challenging activities when you are most alert, and during the pits you can veg out productively (like reading emails etc).

You will need to work out though what the small things are that you can do that require the smallest amount of brain power so you can save these for when you are lulling.

Stop viewing it as an office, where you get paid for your work(and so the complacency sets in to give no more like a 'Shylock', )....
Instead, just think of it as a game.... sharpening our skills when there is leisure, and using skills when there is need. Salary will happen any way, and if others do not provide good atmosphere, a skilled person is a potential threat, as a forerunner to attrition !

Try to locate some beautiful girls in your office and while working just think that you have to impress her mind to make her sleep with you in near future. Your laziness will leave you automatically and you will always be filled with new energy.
