1. go to file -> choose Save.
2. Hit ctrl + S
3. go to file -> choose save as.
4. go to file -> choose save as web page
5. go to file -> choose print -> choose Adobe PDF printer -> make a PDF
6. go to file -> choose print -> choose Adobe PDF printer -> make a Postscript
7. go to file -> choose print -> choose Adobe PDF printer -> save as PDF-X
8. go to file -> choose print -> choose Adobe PDF printer -> save PDF to iPhoto
9. go to file -> choose print -> choose Adobe PDF printer -> save PDF to mail recipiants folder
10. go to file -> choose save as -> choose text only
11. go to file -> choose save as -> choose text only with line breaks
12. go to file -> choose save as -> choose Rich text format
There are a few more option under that menu.

Well I ran to my bookshelf to get my MS Word textbook which is about 4 inches thick, and discovered to my dismay that the first 5 chapters are missing. I loaned them to someone and never got them back. The major problem is, I don't remember to whom I loaned them.
So here are three ways:
(1) I use ctrl/s a lot (if you have previously saved it.
(2) file, save (if you have previously saved it)
(3) file, save as, then select where to save it to
That's all I remember.
