Does anyone actually like plastic nails? I think the ghastly cadaverous colour and the square white tops look freakish. As for the motifs on the end!! Where on earth has this crazy fashion come from ? A mortuary worker maybe!! LOL

At last, someone who isn't afraid to declare their hatred for acrylic nails, and with so much conviction! I hate them with a passion. They're hideous and totally pointless, and seem to be favoured by single teenage mums on council estates

I agree. They look freakish & horrible.
Naturally long nails painted with a clear varnish can look really stunning but those acrylic things are awful.
Apart from how they look, theya are not good for your own nails. In order to fit them your own nails are filed flat so that the acrylic can be placed onto the nail & filed without too much bother. A friend who had acrylics for her wedding took about a year before her own nails recovered & they looked terrible in the interim.

No. Most of the time they look daft. Occasionally really classy ladies can carry it off, but only when made to look really natural. 90% of the time its just sad chavs with little or no life, certainly no job who persist with these tacky 'art nails' with naff designs and jewels. Spending far too much of their income support money on their nails instead of their children!
Personally, if a girl's got time to do that to her nails eveery week the she has far too much time on her hands!!!

acrylic nails do not always look false , in fact my mum is a nail technician and they can in fact look natural ! it all depends how you want them to look , the square white tops as you called them are actually french polish put on your smile line . if you want false nails but want them to look natural then try fibre glass , they look much more natural and damage the nails less !

Plastic Nails??
They'll never be strong to hammer into walls and hang pictures, or hold down floorboards. Don't care if they've got square tops or not.
They'll never catch on, stick with iron ones!!

It looks better then having no nail at all. It's very common here to have long nails...Has been for some time now. I like gel nails better.

I've always liked the way they look on other people, without motifs that is. But I don't like them on my own hands as they feel unnatural.

i like them but i not enough to pay for them, if i want long nails on a night out i buy glue on nails from bodycare for £1.99 and bite them off the next day!!!

they are too high maintenance. if they are constantly maintained, they don't look too bad. i personally don't like the maintainance. and they really just get in the way of simple things like typing, picking up coins, or picking my nose=) hehehe. no really, they're not all that, but they're fun every once in awhile.
