I'd say fake free.

For example, there is apparantly "freedom of speech" in the U.S. Yet you can get arrested if you criticize the government and get put on the "enemy of the state" list if you protest against the war in Iraq and get spied on like a terrorist while all you did was not agree with a war.

Your current administration thinks it's above the law and they don't care what the constitution says either, they still do what they want and both break human rights and reduce the freedom of U.S. citizens as they wish.

Apart from that, there's some ridiculous laws that restrict your freedom for no reason. For example some states ban certain sex positions even when it's consenting adults doing it, they can still be put in jail for it. An atheist cannot become President of the U.S., the laws forbid that. In New Orleans there is still a law that says a woman cannot drive a car unless her husband is walking in front of the car waving a flag. I hope this law is not enforced anymore, even though it's apparantly still valid.

Anyway, the point is, I don't think the U.S. is nearly as free as the government tries to brainwash people into thinking. I'd say people are more like fake free.

No one is more enslaved than the slave who believes himself to be free.

We are absolutely enslaved in the US by the un-Constitutional government and banks and the mind-contolling media. Yet if we submit to this slavery, we are allowed to be somewhat comfortable. If we protest, we are persecuted with the full force of the government. We are a nation of ignorant, enslaved cowards.

Anytime you make a government you give up some of your freedom in return for protection--that's what government is.
