What were some books that abused America and what effects did it have?

Noam Chomsky has written a lot of what most people would regard as anti-American books. I'm pretty sure Chomsky himself doesn't regard his books as anti-American. I don't know that his books have much effect, because there the type of book that people start to read and then never finish. I see he has Hugo Chavez helping to promote his latest book, maybe Chomsky will make it on Oprah yet.
