One "W" is perfectly acceptable; it just means that you dropped a course for some reason. The problem is when you have multiple "W's" on your transcript. That looks either like you were consistently unable to handle what you signed up for, or like you misjudged your own capabilities.

Only to an alphabetically deprived college you may transfer to.
a) Colleges offer the Big W because they recognize the need.
b) On a few resumes...a very few...I've been able to write graduation with honors. Four years of schooling and they want to know if I have a paper - not how hard I studied.
c) If you are on a student loan, you might want check out what the W will do.

No... not really. An "INC" (incomplete) looks worse!
