The lovely scent of flowers is caused by some essential oils which the plant produces during its growth.They are very complex substances in certain conditions e.g; increase in temperature, the complex oils break down to give a volatile oil which evapourates easily and is fragnant. This fragnance, most common in flowers, may also be found in other parts of the plant e.g; the sharp aroma of lemon, orange and other citrus fruits or the spicy smell of cinnamon bark. The beautiful scent realesed by flowers attracts bees and hence aids in pollination
