I need a good pen name. My mind suddenly drew a blank today for some reason. I write mostly yaoi, so I'm not quite sure what kind of a name I want. Nothing too innocent. Heeelp!

Hmmm, in Japanese, Aiko is Love Child, Yaoi means stop, my *** hurts, and the people devoted to this genre are called Otaku, which is defined in Harajuku as Kimi for geeks.

The Japanese also really like to combine the initial sounds of words to make new words, such as Yaoi, as above. So you could take some things from Aiko, Otaku, Kimi, Aoi (blue, as in your genre), and add -chan (the endearing name for little girls). How about AiChan? The daughter of the Crown Princess? Maybe Aitaku-San? The loving Otaku?

Think about your cultures, your art, and all the really wild stories you heard from the cosplayers at Harajuku Eki. You'll come up with something!

Wing Wang would be original. I've written a novel and this is the name of a family restaurant owned by Mr. Wang... Although I don't know if this would work for a pen name.

Create your pen name out of something that means something to you, whether it's a relative, hero, a name in a song, or of your favorite artist, whatever... and you can combine two reasons into a first and last name... that way, even though it's not YOUR name, it still means something to you. Hope this helps!
