I had a friend who was about your age who had DARK black hair on her legs (and it wasn't a little bit) and her mother would not let her shave; kids made fun of her. If your mother says it is okay and you are comfortable enough than it is okay. Which by asking this question i guess you are not too comfortable. Have you talked to your mother about how to shave properly? Most parents won't let children shave PERIOD til they are like 13 or 14. Which if you are one of the unlucky gals who grows hair at a young age and it is obvious then there should be an acception. Kids can be cruel, and your mother and all parents should understand that. Under normal circumstances i would say no, but if you are having a problem with hair growth at such a young age then i say YES to it.

I have a daughter your age, and she shaves, too. She doesn't like doing it, but I think that's because sometimes it is hard to admit to yourself that you are growing up.
Being a young lady comes with a lot of responsibilities. Do any of your friends shave, or would you be the first in your class? If it makes YOU uncomfortable, then don't do it until you are ready to.
Shaving is not painful, but it is boring. You have to do it every other days, or every third day to be comfortable. Don't look at it as a chore, but rather as an awesome part of your body changing into a woman. Be proud!
Make sure someone shows you how to do it, too. E-mail me if you need anymore help.
Good luck!

Sweetheart, you shouldn't be on here, especially this late or without your mother. I have a ten year old daughter and she has lots of hair on her legs. I say enjoy not having to shave for as long as you can. Don't grow up too fast!!!! And go get your mom so she can know that you are on here.

Sure shave your legs. It isn't very feminine when you have a bunch of hair on your legs and you want to wear a dress. It is really up to you and how you feel about your body and your appearance.

Just remember, once you start shaving, it grows back sometimes darker than before, which means you'll ALWAYS have to shave on a regular basis, unless you want your leg hair to grow back (which can look a bit awkward while it's growing in)
But winter's coming along, so you can hide it under tights and pants. and not have to shave as much.
Be careful!

I'd say YES.
My older friends use to tease me when I was about 10 cause I had hairy legs and they didn't.
But I was 10! lol.
Go ahead, make sure your mother shows you how first though. You can cut yourself pretty bad if you don't know what you're doing.
Good luck
