A lot of people said they do and I agree. I listen to what people say and often take their advice. I ask a lot of questions about sex, relationships, parents, maturity, etc. A lot of the questions I ask CANNOT be asked of parents because for example you dont want to ask your mom or dad about how to masturbate or should you go all the way with a boy you like and they know because he's always over at your house. Thanks to yahoo people and their wise counsel, I abandoned the idea of leaving my gifted program in school to be in the same school as my boyfriend, going all the way when my hormones were telling me one thing and good sense was not getting through, understanding the differences in maturity between the sexes, and asking pointed questions about religion and politics. Recently I was worried if muscle building exercises that I was doing with the help of my favorite boy would make me into a mannish girl. People told me that actually it would make me more feminine and attractive so now i'm full speed ahead with an exercise program. Most of these questions I could not in a million years ask my parents. I LOVE YAHOO ANSWERS. Yahoo Answers Rule!

It just depends on what it is. I just asked about dishwasher problems and took someones advice about checking the seal and that's all it was. Works good as new now. But if it's medical advice, no way. I have doctors where I live, so I'll just ask the pros. And if I think I might be pregnant, I'll take a test or by ob/gyn. Don't see that happening though since I had a tubal almost 3 yrs. ago.

I have personally come to the realization that some people do actually believe what is typed here or read here only refers to them I signed on because I ws under the impression it was just chit-chat to pass time away with others from other parts of the continent but boy some do get all fired up on questions ansanswers as if it was meant directly to insult them yet I thoght these were just opinions sharing and some of ones own thoughts on adivse not that it was written in stone.

I suspect only 30% take advice seriously because there is so much misspelling and horrible grammar as to cast the authors of the answers into doubt.

depends on the nature of the question.
but i really enjoy answering cos i find it helps me understand myself better. especially in terms of relationships- and the feedback from some people really is genuinely good. it gives you an outsider's perspective and sometimes you just see it for what it is.

I've learned to have to have a thick skin for the unexpected jabs or inappropriateness. . .
But --it has expanded my thinking. Definitely.
