I just had this discussion with a friend last night. He lives in a house where someone committed suicide in 50 years ago, and I told him there is NO WAY I could live there. He said since the person took their own life and was not murdered, he doesn't mind. Still kinda creepy, I think.

Its pretty yucky. If the flat was at all depressing it would keep me away. However, if I really liked the flat then I would try to get a good price based on the history.

My family's the second owners of the house we are currently staying in.

The first year we moved in, my dogs kept howling every night. One of my dogs barked incessantly one night and I thought he was barking at me. I later realised he was barking at something behind me but I couldn't see what it was! And we often heard an old throaty cough in the middle of the night but we never had any old male family member in our house. To top it off, the previous owners left a weird looking sword in the store room.

I found out much later that the sword was a sacred object to ward of evil spirits. And the previous owner blurted out eventually that her husband died in our house before her family moved away!

I think I would. It all depends if the price is right. I bet there are a lot of places that are rented or sold and the people don't know about it.

I wouldn't want that property if it was free-talk about bad karma. Not to mention the high possibility that the person's spirit hasn't crossed over.

Yes, why not? I believe you can't find a old flat where there is nobody die before, natural or unnatural death.
