why my phone don't find my hands-free bluetooth?

i have a motorola mpx220 and a bluetooth headset motorola hs850 that a friend gived to me, it's the headset too new for the phone if it is which headset is compatible with my phone?

Double check the directions for each device. It should work. Both the headset and the phone are v 1.1 compliant.

You may just have to buy another headset.
