I don't want to be under or over dressed. Any tips please about my question or what I should do to be prepared for this interview would be helpful.

You should wear what ever is suitable for that job position. Go eat at a Denny's and see what type of clothes/uniforms they wear and wear a similar outfit. Take notice to the type of shoes they wear, make sure your nails are well groomed, take out any unusual body peircings, pull your hair back. Basically, dress as if you were already working there. If you can't find the right thing, overdressing is always better than underdressing. Never wear jeans.

Josephine - with a name like yours (female for Joseph - perhaps the most humble and dignified person the world has ever known - which man would ever allow an unseen being to impregnate his wife and accept to raise the child there from?) - please whether it is for this job or any other dress as tastefully as you would for a meeting with the president - dignified and modest. And remember clothes are nothing without the manners to go with them - they're the perfect accessory when going to an interview. Start your interview with a, "Thank you for meeting me and please forgive me if I don't look like your ideal candidate for the job but given the chance I will work hard to keep the name of Denny's positive with the dinners... "
And never lie about your qualifications!!!! If asked for example which hand a waiter must use to pick up a fork from the floor when serving somebody use your common sense - don't rush. Think. Then ask something like, "At Denny's what is the waiter supposed to do?" Initiative and common sense together with your presentation - dress, grooming and body language will get you the job. Denny's hires people everyday - low life's included but don't let that mislead you into believing they're pushovers. I'd rather deal with you in Denny's - as a wait person, chef or management. You have class for asking such a simple but important question. All the best to you ma'am.

You know I went for an interview at Steak'n Shake (just like Denny's) and all I wore were jeans and a dressy top with a little bit of heel. Just be comfortable, but not sloppy. Try jeans, a dresser top, some jewellery. Make sure your hair is not all over your face and don't wear too much makeup. It worked for me.

The most important thing to wear is a smile. Just wear what you feel you look good in. Look how professional workers dress and wear the same. Have confidence in your self and if you don't get the job, remember there is always other jobs.

A wifebeater top and a toothpick in your mouth, pants optional.

Seriously though I'd go with khaki pants and a golf shirt, but I'm a guy. Not sure what the girl equivalent is for that.

Professional but not overdone.
You didn't specify if you were a girl or not, but I'll assume girl cause I don't think guys would care.
Black or brown shoes.
Clean, dressy shirt, a blazer might be too much.
Black slacks, NO JEANS, or tan kakis.
Take out any piercings.
Hope I helped!

I don't think it matters exactly what you wear only that you are clean and neat with hair pulled back. Employers always look for well manicured hands with clean fingernails. Good luck. Hope you get the job!
