I'm a fifteen -year-old gay boy and i want my parents to know already. i've told most of my friends and i'm most of the way out, my last big step is my parents. they are very liberal and accepting people and i know they will undestand, but it is still really hard.

You are lucky to have liberal parents. This will work in your favor. Is there a time of day that is like a "family time" when you can talk openly?
Don't tell them just before bed. They may need some time to process this info so it doesn't keep them up all night.
On the other hand, they may already have their suspicions and are waiting you you to come out to them.
Good luck.

The best possible way is just letting them now. I know it's hard but if you don't tell them now, it can come as a shock later. If you are afraid ask what your parents think of gays and lesbians. Just tell them, they are your parents and they will accept you even if you turn blind, mental, deaf, etc.

You have received some pretty good comments. I say have a sit down with them maybe after dinner or something and let them know that you really need to discuss something that's on your mind, and that you need to let it out. and let them know exactly how you feel. They may or may not except it but I think it will help you get over the feeling like your not being honest to them about your true feelings. TELL THEM!!!

This is a very excellent question and I have no doubt that your parent's already know already!

Sit down with them and ask them to help you with your Coming Out Party? Why not? It honors them, it honors you and it honors your friends. It also honors a milestone in your life.

That way you finally and calmly 'come out' to your parents, you set a tone of dignity for yourself and you get a party!

LOL, parents will believe what they want to believe.

I am a pagan and my parents still act like I am a christian, they refuse to believe it. I am not gay but I figure it will end up being a similar situation. I am 37 and my parent knew even back when I was 19 and we still go through the same crap that we went through back then.

Youre right. Every parent has a hope and dream and a vision for their child and themselves in that vision and that includes their sexual preference. And every parent hopes their child doesnt have to face difficult life decisions such as pregnancy before marriage, etc. It's not easy, who said it should be?
Better now if you want to go on with your life and start making adjustments. Cant predict if they will adjust or not. I suppose some do and some dont. Its the dream that is dashed not you.

If they are as understandstanding and accepting people as you say, you are a very lucky guy. Be honest with them and tell them...I can't really think of any parent loving their child any less just because they are gay. As for your friends, they are not your friends if they can't accept you for who you are...shame on them! Good luck with everything!

Get a friend to help you with this and make sure that you're really, really not attracted to women before you declare yourself because its hard to be gay in any society and getting married and having kids is even harder for a gay.
