Wouldn't that be an excellent business for the Major of New York?
They could demolish the old crappy buildings and sell all that land at a great price and start constructing new modern skyscrappers that would be pretty close from the best areas of Manhattan and with that money give the people that live today in Harlem an excellent house in other place?

Gentrification is already occurring in Harlem. Many renovated, beautiful brownstones and limestone apartment buildings. Many new, modern multi-unit apartment buildings. Imminent domain will displace low income people from their homes in Manhattan and in Brooklyn (for a sports complex at Atlantic Yards).

hmmmm.... no.

I live in manhattan and most likely the people will be priced out of their apartments and have to find cheaper places to live. They will lose... not benefit. And NYC will someday soon only be for the super rich, unfortunately.
