america is an experiment in that we tryed democracy and it allowed/allows people to move up and down the social ladder... but what else?? Why is America considered such a GRAND Experiment?

Because the colonies that were first set up were done so buy pilgrims, puritans, and religious mined people who were tired of the English oppression in the church and government. They were an "experiment" because there were so liberal in governmental ideas and practices with "tolerance" mixed in.
