You should tell your GYN about these symptoms. I ended up needing to be put on birth control pills to help control my pain and other symptoms.
Best of luck!

If they are really horrible ((like labor pains) you may want to see a doctor. Dysmenorrhea should range from mild to moderately severe. If you are experiencing something you would describe more painful that moderately severe, you could very well have endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition that causes uterine tissue to grow anywhere outside the uterus. It is very painful and causes almost intolerable periods. If you want instant relief, take Advil Migraine because it has ibuprofen and potassium in it. Potassium is good for menstrual craps (dysmenorrha) so you'll get extra relief. After you feel better, call your gyno and set up a meeting to discuss the severity of your cramps.

I had the same thing. Nothing would work. I had some pretty strong prescription pain killers, and even that didn't help. Talk to the doctor about birth control. I finally got on it after years of suffering. It has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I only get minor cramps ever 2 or 3 months. It also helps with the moodiness of having a period. Good luck!

In the past, I've used a heating pad on my belly. Set at a low temperature. My mother in law used to make me sage tea (Greek family home remedy). It seem to work also.
If the cramps get really severe, check with your doctor.
Not to get digusting, but if you get clots, GET TO A DOC!!!!
It may be something more serious.

The only thing that works for me is Tylenol 3. Or if I can fall asleep, usually I'll wake up without the cramps anymore.

Birth control helps with cramps. I also use Mobic, it's by prescription though, but works miracles.

I had this same problem for the entire first year after I had my son. Never any real problems before or after I finaly got thru that first year.
(1) hot water bottle against your belly or your back (2) soak in hot bath (3) asprin, tylenol, naproxin sodium or ask your doctor to perscribe Anaprox (4) as strange as it may sound... ummmm intercourse helps... just ask hubby to be patient and gentle & not deep
# 4 helps to increase your endorphines and your level your hormones and that helps with the pain

many of our species suffers this kind of agony.i am too...and so what i did was i observed the pattern.meaning the things that i do or not do before my menstruation begins and the severity of pain that i will or will not experience.and as i observed, the more active i am in doing household chores or exercises before my period, the lesser the pain.sometimes it doesn't work that way coz im caught one day and wallah!! oh my God..im with blood and I have completely forgotten about the period thing coz im too busy about just alot of things...but i dont worry much, cause our analgesics and paracetamol helps coupled with lots of water to get rid of that bloated feeling.hope my remedy will help you too.

The only thing that works for me is Aleve and a heating pad. But still, even with that, there are days I can't get out of bed.

I was given Vicodin when I had my wisdom teeth removed for pain and took them during my cycle. It worked wonders. You may want to see if your doctor can put you on a trial for them. I have them really bad too.
