Quantum physics is the science based on quantum theories which deal with the beahvior of particles. Quantum mechanics was the name of the first theory in quantum physics but the terms are interchangeable at this point.
It is most definitely a true science and it has been used to explain things like the behavior of light and the nature of the atom, and many of the elementary particles that make up the Universe.

same difference as physics and chemistry. Quantum physics is the sister of physics and Quantum mechanic is the brother of chemistry. Physics and Chemistry and Biology are in our head, body, around us, we can measure tangible theories, in labs at Harvard Medical School of Science.
Quantum Physics cannot be seen with the human eye, it can only be experienced then understood. I have been studying Quantum Physics and Quantum Mechanic for 16 years now.
Very smart scientists and a bunch of fearless producers created a movie that explains and show with animation what the quantum world looks like. The main producer spent US $ 5 million dollars of his own money and made the movie. It became an international hit and within one year the movie grossed $ 10 million. Now there is a sequel sold throughout the US in many chain stores such as Target and Fred Meyers on the west coast.
The producers study at the same school as me. And they have studied as long as I have. Many Scientists in the movie taught us, RSE Students, as guest teachers at my school.
Einstein is the past. The biggest fad now is trying to explain Quantum Physics. Join me on YahooBeta360 and I will answer any questions you have. I am a free internet Quantum Physic Teacher, I have been teaching many so they understand the dynamic of Quantum physic. Quantum Theories cannot be explained in one answer. The Quantum is infinite and loaded with worm holes. Like in the movie The Matrix, which pill will you take, the blue pill or the red pill. Both will lead you thru a rabbit hole.

There is not much difference, the two are used interchangeably (I think). If there is a difference, then it is that quantum mechanics is a subset of quantum physics. There are also the fields of quantum field theory, quantum chromodynamics, quantum electrodynamics. These are all more advanced quantum theories and I guess one could argue that they are not "quantum mechanics."

Yes, they are considered true sciences. Many technologies really on ideas presented by these theories.

They are both science. Most engineering is an approximation of quantum physics but the results are very accurate in our "normal" world.

Quantum effects come in when we deal with the very small or indeed when the universe was very small as well. It is often counter intuitive (but true) because we do not "normally" experience the very small in every day life.

Hope this helps
