Because the curse first benefits the liar at the expense of the victim, and later on the liar pays the expense with interest .
If a person desires to avoid this heavier expense later on, then he will choose to stick to truth !

Do you have trouble with English or what? I've never heard of a "lie" and a "curse" being related. And there are many reasons why people lie. Usually because the truth would hurt them.

A lie is not a curse, but there are some people who tells lies to evade the truth, avoid punishment, or cover up something about themselves. It might be a curse for them if they can't stop lying, which would be a pathological liar.

I do not understand people who lie but one good way is ask the same question to a person who you think is telling a lie and if there story doesn't change then it is usually the truth.A lie or a story will be forgotten by the one who told it but the truth one will never forget.

People who are weak in spirit lie. They lie because maybe they have seen others lie like their parents. Or it seems easier. Maybe when they were younger, they lied & didn't get punished.

Today TV teaches our younger lying is cool & ok to do. Lying is a shallow thing to do & many humans are afraid to look deeper into themselves.

people lie because it is easier for them than the truth, or they lie to hurt other people, or they lie because they believe what they are saying and they think they are telling the truth.
