Ok, I work in retail, too (and I can't say who) but in a store like yours. At my company, employees can date as long as they are the same level. So, managers couldn't date a cashier or whatever. Actually, managers in my store can't even date other managers. They have to transfer to another store or quit.
I actually met my boyfriend at my previous job and they didn't say who could date who. Then we went to work at my current company together. I'll give you a piece of advice: Keep it pretty quiet, don't be holding hands or kissing while working. Do your job and people will respect you and realize that it doesn't matter who's dating who--you are a good worker no matter what.

Hey,
I work in a retail store too, A nationwide chain I'm sure you would knoif i said online, i believe they hav e a thing where if you are in security or in mangement you are not allowed to date another employee, otherwise it's okay.
However, if i were you, ANd i've tampered with thi s little bit, I'd proceed with caution, I today don;t think that going out with your co-workers is such a good idea, If you break up, yeah, you'll really wna to come to work, The other person could wind up getting you in trouble.

When I worked at KFC, we had so much of employees dating other employees that it was rediculous, haha. We probably had 3 or 4 different couples in the same store.

You are allowed to date a coworker, but if you are a boss or a manager, you are not allowed to date anyone under you. That is the rules in most businesses. It is considered a conflict of interest.

i dont think there is something saying that you cant as long as you keep it out of work...they cant tell you who you can and cannot date...that just wouldnt be right for example, places hire couples that are marrried so it shouldnt be a problem....but like i said, if you do start dating someone at work keep it strictly outside. I am dating a fellow worker and everyone knows we are dating, but we keep it out of work...

Some places have a 'house policy' where they make it a rule you can't date your co-workers. I can understand why, because it creates a LOT of tension should it fall out. But if you can keep your work professional, why not?

In most businesses it is not a problem but you should check your Employee Manual. If in doubt call Human Resources. I would be surprised if there is an issue with that..

The company handbook should say. Yes, they can fire you for pretty much any reason they want to as long as it's not based on gender, race, and sexual orientation.

Is there any rules set not to date your workmate? If not, just go ahead if you like him or her.
