I love cheetahs, they are really cool, I work at a wild life safari and got a chance to work with them up close and personally. I had a opertunity to pet one and there fur is pretty ruff. Has anyone else had that experience, I actually really did do this last summer. I do it every summer, kind of a vollenteer job, soooo much fun!

I no longer get very annoyed when this happens.

The reasons and cause for it are as varied as the Users who Answer and the Questions Asked. The Question may have been mis-read. Or read correctly but not understood. Or taken out of context. Or ignored in favor of allowing someone to rant because the topic is an emotional one for them.

Who cares why it is done. It does happen; it has happened; it will continue to happen. On this site every User must learn to deal with other people. Some of these are going to be very weird compared to those we meet everyday in the flesh. This cannot be avoided, so why allow it to get you upset?

Treat off topic Answers the same as the babbling cooing of an infant during a serious conversation between adults. Smile and enjoy it or ignore it, but do not let it push you off center or out of balance.

You can always give it a "thumbs down" if you feel so inclined.

No, it doesn't annoy me when someone answers a question with something slightly off the topic that is fascinating and educational. For instance, this one time I asked what color a great white shark was and someone told me they can weigh 4,000 pounds, which I found interesting. Kinda reminds me of back when I used to coach high school football we had this cornerback that whenever you asked him a question he'd begin every answer with "My girlfriend..." Found out years later he was gay and didn't have a girlfriend.

No. It annoys me when people ask questions in a topic like Zoology that belong in a topic like Social Issues or Yahoo Answers. Silly.

I find it funny.

Its sarcasm.

We can at least have some sense of humour before getting into the serious matter of the question.

And the cow did jump over the moon last night.
