I think it is, but by how much approximately? I experienced some humidity while there, but it seems to be more prevalent in New York city. Is the humidity in LA much less than New York city?

Because of the desert, and dry air, in southern CA, the moisture in the air is dispersed more so the humidity is less.

Are you comparing NYC to Los Angelos?
Of course NYC is more humid on average than Los Angelos!
Southern California is marked by dry weather, but being semi-arid, and the Mohave desert being in the south east.
NYC is between St. Laurence River way and the Atlantic Ocean. There are many rivers in the state of New York.
It can be humid in southern California, but more so in the state of New York.

The humidity in LA is about 70% and that in New York city is 59% today. The higher the moisture in the air the higher is the humidity.So the humidity in LA is more as compared to New York. California is a dry state...humidity is relativity a new experience here....we were talking about it this summer, the only thing residents (in the valley) can surmise is the increase of swimming pools, with new construction...previously I never experienced humidity until I move from Cali to Mich...

i grew up in L.A. and there's no humidity there or very little that it doesn't even qualify as humidity. here in Indiana its awful during the summer..along the coastal towns in California there's is moisture off the ocean but that doesn't qualify as standard humidity either.i heard that new york can be a swelter.....

LA averages about 12" of rain a year.... I don't know the average for NY but I know it is A LOT more than that
