Not necessarily. Sacrifice can come out of obedience. It depends on what you're sacrificing to what/whom, and who/what you're obeying, for what purposes.

Could use a little more context here.

I believe you are refering to the bible, from the verse: 1 Samuel 15:22

I totally agree with that statement. Here is why.

We can serve in the church, do good things and have devotions, do all these good things.but if you're not obeying the Word of God, it's useless.

In my opinion, God is ALL good (i can personally vow for that, He has NEVER short change me all my life) and when He makes such an imnportant emphasis to tell us Obediance is better than sacrifice, i believe He is trying to tell us something here that is to protect us, keep us.

(sacrifice or good intentions or whatever interpretations of sacrifice). It always means something from ourselves, our good intentions. Its a beautiful thing but GOD says Obediance is BETTER than sacrifice. Obediance to His loving words, His teachings in the bible which is perfect, good and the truth, the bible that teaches us the way of God and not the way of the world. To protect us, guide us beyond what we know or can see. His Grace and Truth.

The obediance to His words is Better than any sacrifice coming out from our limited, shortsighted intentions.

If you believe He is God, you will know why He said this :-)

I don't know what context each term is being asked in. I will assume both are 'blind' and say no to your question.

I feel that obedience can be a test of patience, which might be good for showing loyalty.

But with sacrifice, we voluntarily give up something we love, which to me shows strength of character.

Both can be abused, I suppose.

No I do not agree.
Obedience can mean a blind adherence to a false doctrine. rather than a voluntarily Sacrifice to a true doctrine.
A sacrifice that is freely given to a just cause is better than a sacrifice for the wrong reasons.

No... Sacrifice is bad if it achieves nothing, but if a sacrifice achieves what it set out to do, the benefit can be enormous. Many great men have sacrificed themselves, but with varying degrees of success.

I have great respect for those who stand up, or lay down their lives, for what they believe in.

eg Is a vietnam war draft dodger strong or weak?

I think it's both. Obedience is a sacrifice --of the automatic inclinations. . .

I don't agree with suffering so I don't agree to either obedience or sacrifice.

I disagree with that statement. If you always obey others then you will always be the underdog. To achieve greater thing, you need to make sacrafices. So what if you're gonna lose this and that? You're probably going to gain something or more worth.

I agree because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for us and we don't have to take the punishment if we just obey God and follow his word.
