I am a die-hard Alabama football fan & I have been trying to figure out which pro team I should begin to root for... I'm new to pro football & I want to get advice from you people with experience! Which team has more recruits from Alabama? (Not Auburn, mmmk?) I know amazing Alabama alum. Shaun Alexander plays for the Seattle Seahawks, but I want to be for a team that I can actually go to a game without flying across the US (I live in AL). I don't want to go for a team that's on a loosing streak right now or anything because I won't be able to completely get into it..... I can't be for anyone with the colors orange & blue b/c I will look like I am supporting Auburn; and well, I just can't do that. I don't like the Atlanta Falcons, Tenn. Titans, or Miami Dolphins. Who's left that fits my strict criteria? Haha

Knowing people from Alabama... There is no other football than Bama football. Pros, college, whatever. Go Tide!! Save picking your favorite pro team for whoever your boyfriend likes. If he's from Alabama, he'll have the same dilemna. God, family, Bear and Bama football. True?

But if you really need to go to the games? Check out Reggie Bush and the New Orleans Saints.

Well, sweetie, you aren't all that far from NO, Jacksonville or Carolina either. I don't know how many Alabama alums play on any of those teams but with NO actually discovering real NFL football this season, all three are "not too shabby" teams......

Or you could just "get over" your dislike of the Falcons, they look totally hot this season, (so far.)

But if you want my BEST advice, stick with Shawn Alexander and the Mighty Seahawks! That way you can take a Seattle-made Boeing 767 to the games while drinking a Seattle-based Starbuck's coffee, while working on your Seattle-produced Window's XP powered laptop.

I mean he doesn't come from Alabama but the newest addition to the 'Hawks, Deion Branch does hail from Georgia and went to college in Miss. and Louisville (does that count?)

I know that Matt Hasslebeck did go to Boston College and although I'm not from the South, that doesn't make me very happy either..... (But he did visit Alabama once and apparently told coach Holmgren "Alabama doesn't really suck, THAT much....)

(If you do go with Seattle, chances are you may see your team win a Superbowl fairly soon, they ARE looking real good these days....)

Bart Starr was an outstanding 'Bama alum, and he guided the Green Bay Packers to wins in the first two Super Bowls.
Plus, the Packers are a smalltown team - like many in Alabama - that is community-owned and will never leave, so you don't have to worry about your newfound favorite uprooting on you.
And Brett Favre is a Southern boy, too. Granted he's from Mississippi, but he's Southern as a twang.
Basically, Green Bay is like a Southern city with snow.

It would be the perfect time to start rooting for the New Orleans Saints. You live close enough, so geographically, it makes sense. Also, they are an exciting young, team with potential.

My advice is to watch a couple of games. Whichever one catches your eye and makes you cheer, stick with them. Don't worry about the record, every dog has his day and the tema you root for now may suck later or they may go on the greatest winning streak of all time.

That depends...if you want to root for a winner...then it's the Colts...if you just want to root for anyone...then try the rest...But remember, The Colts are the class of the field..and they have all good guys playing for them...no T.O.'s here in Indy

Carolina Panthers, not that far away from you. I-85 north, I'll save you a seat. They're good team, a playoff contender in recent years, still in the South, and they sell sweet tea at the ballpark too.
