rub a little baby oil around the whole earring then grab the clasp ith one hand and the stud with the other and pull them out in opposite directions to avoid any pressure on either side. Then wipe off the pierced area with a little alcohol and wipe the new earrings u'll wear with a little alcohol, too. As for the old earrings, wipe them with alcohol as well. Nothing kills of bacteria like alcohol. u can rinse them in hot water too, if u want. That's pretty much it, as I'm speaking from experience!

When I got my 3rd and 4th piercings (I got my first two as a baby), I would just take off the earrings and put on another pair but at the end of the day, I always put my original earrings back in because the post is thicker and I don't want my ear holes to get really small.
But anyway, you should definitely wash whatever you put in your ears and your ears. Alcohol may be nice but it's not a necessity, I just used soap.

Clean both your lobes and the posts of the new earrings with alcohol. If you still have any solution left from when you got them pierced, then use that. You want to clean your lobes to make sure that there is no dirt, oil, or other buildup there that can get shoved into the hole itself. You want to clean the earrings to remove and dirt and dust that may have settled on them in the store.
I recommend sticking with real precious metals and hypo-allergenic earrings at first. Let your ears get used to the different qualities before you try a cheap pair. You never know if you are going to have a reaction from the nickle, copper, tin, or aluminum that is used in the cheap costume jewelry. Just because your neck, wrists, or finger don't break out won't mean that your ears won't. Remember that this time the metal in going IN your skin, not just on top of it.

Just use a little alcohol on the earrings and earlobe once you remove the earring. It would be a good idea to use the alcohol on the new earrings you are putting in as well. They could be dusty or a little dirty from sitting around and being handled by the stores.

Number ONE! you should not have waited this long. It only takes 4-6 weeks. I am 53 years old and just got my ears pierced for the first time. I have very sensitive ears. Soak your new earrings in alcohol with a drop of bleach. Bleach is the only thing that will kill bacteria. Wash them before putting them in your ears. Wash the holes out with alcohol and a q-tip.
