I have Proactive and the same thing happened to me. All my current acne went away but I still have the scars. DON'T CANCEL PROACTIV! If you've already tried other products, you know that you're acne will return. I called the Proactive company and asked them about the scars. They told me you have to buy the Lightening lotion, which will lighten the darkened areas of the skin (your scars). I did buy it but it didn't work. Your other option is trying microdermabrasion. Yes I know it's expensive and to do it professionally you have to go to at least six sessions to make it effective. But I just found a home remedy for microdermabrasion in Cosmogirl if you want the recipe:
Scrub with Cetaphil and baking soda. Combine equal parts, rub on wet skin for a minute and rinse.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, $9 at drugstores.
And if you don't take my advice and do change to a daily regimen. Remember this: it takes at least 3 months for a facial routine to show results. So be patient either way.

It is important that you follow a routine using skin care products from the same company like you are doing with Proactiv. That way you get the perfect amount of ingrediants in the products for each of your skin care issues.
Avon has a really effective skin care system called of all things:
ClearSkin They have the cleanser, the astrigent and scrub with salycilic acid which heals blemishes and prevents breakouts. They charge a fraction of what Proactiv charges for starters but what will really help you are the amazing skin repair products they offer!
I would have to ask my manager for specific advice regarding acne scars, but you are more than welcome to email me and I will let you know what she recommends. She has been selling Avon for 20 years and I only started a few months ago, so I don't want to give you bad advice. My email is ggflower@shop4prom.com
I am sure to have the answer for you in the next couple of days.
Or you can have a look at my Avon website, where you can find the answer yourself. Take Care

If proactiv helped with the whiteheads I would have kept using it. Most acne products do not help with scarring, at least as far as I know. I think you may need to get a seperate product for the scarring. But if you can find something that helps get rid of the pimples, hold onto it! Proactiv is the only thing that has ever consistently worked for mine. As far as scarring goes, I've only read that vitamin E cream is good for scars. But you don't want to put anything too oily on your face if you are prone to breakouts.

You don't need any fancy procucts or tablets. It's important to cleanse, tone and moisturise everyday. Use a scrub once a week. Use an tinted moistoriser with sunscreen during the day to protect your skin. You can get these products from the supermarket or the pharmacy. At sixteen it is normal for you skin to be this way. The problem may go away with age. But you must allways remember to keep up with your daily skin routine even when your skin is not breaking out. good luck.

Unfortunately the scars are pretty much permanent unless you can afford laser treatment or Strivectin-SD. If Proactiv is working for you then continue to use it. Remember that your face will probably get worse(eek) before it gets better! That's just your skin's way of clearing itself up. After a few months you should have it under control. Avoid picking and popping to prevent any further scarring.

I had acne for a while and I would wash with a lot of products, thought I was getting my face clean, kept breaking out, but when I tried OXY PADS, I realized that I was not getting my skin clean. I kid you not, within a few short days, my acne was going away. OXY Pads are the best!

The main cause of acne is bacteria. all youreally need to do is make sure you wash your face everyday with a hypo-allergenic soap. like neutrogena
