I had it. But I worked for the catholic church for a long time, and saw things from the inside, "behind the curtain", if you will.

I've come to the conclusion that It's all a show, and religion is a business that sells faith. If I saw 100 priests, maybe 5 believed in what they were doing.
Money dictates many decisions in the church. It's what everyone keeps their eye on.

When I realized that the Christian party line seems to be, "We are Christians, and we love all people--unless they're Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, gay, or ask too many questions. Then it is our sacred duty to point out that they are going to hell." Not that Christians are the only ones who think this way. Most strongly religious folks of any religion, but especially Christan and Muslim, seem to have trouble in the live-and-let-live department while atheists and agnostics do not. We tend to be more open-minded.

I lost it when I was about 11. I asked mom why the neighbor always said catholics were going to hell, mom said not to listen to her, that our religion was the "true" one. Something in my head clicked and gave me a sense of "nobody is right here" and I started developing love for science.
