Lots are easy to get to from Vienna. Innsbrook is actually not far, Salzburg, Venice is a direct train but a little further, Prague and Budapest. Austia is not that big. Lets put it this way. It took about 4 and a half hours by train to cross Switzerland diagonally and it has a lot of mountains.
